Why has Ibuildings UK changed its name to Inviqa?

Ibuildings UK is a great success story. For the best part of five years we have been providing outstanding PHP development services to some of the UK’s most innovative companies.

During those five years we’ve experienced steady growth and now employ over 80 talented people. In order to maintain our ambitious growth plans, to be recognised and respected as the number one PHP company in the world, Ibuildings UK has undertaken a management buyout (MBO). In order to accelerate this growth and create an even stronger identity for the business, we have agreed to an MBO whereby the existing UK management team acquires all of the UK operations.

As a result, Ibuildings UK will formally trade under a new name: Inviqa. The move has been made to provide our customers, partners and the PHP community with a single, consistent brand that meets all of their requirements.

Ibuildings will continue to operate under the brand name in the Netherlands, no doubt continuing the success of recent years, and we wish our colleagues all the best.

What will be the structure of the UK company?

The leadership of the company will remain unchanged. Yair Spitzer (CEO) and Paul Wander (VP of Sales and Marketing) will continue to be actively involved in the day-to-day running of the business.

The Inviqa Group will be the holding company. Within it there will be three UK subsidiaries, including:

  • Inviqa providing PHP development services to enterprises across all sectors
  • Session Digital  a Magento Gold Solutions partner, focusing on high-conversion eCommerce solutions
  • Sensio Labs UK focusing on the Symfony framework

What does this all mean for customers?

It will be business as usual for all our customers. We will remain in the same offices with the same people and leadership, using the same methodologies.

As we continue to grow, all our customers can expect to benefit from a more comprehensive product suite, innovation and experience from within the PHP community. This will be achieved through more R&D, more employees, trusted technology partners, suppliers and products over the coming months and years.

What does this all mean for the PHP community?

Recognising that the PHP community is at the heart of driving open source development, we want to give back as we grow. Inviqa will invest more time, money and resources in to the growing PHP community and open source projects.

We will also be inviting non-Inviqa developers to assist developing our new products, which will be launched soon. Focusing on and promoting open source projects, we will also be looking to lead and sponsor a number of industry events, including PHP London, PHPNW, SheffPhp and more.

What is Inviqa’s vision?

Our primary vision is to be recognised and respected as the number one PHP company in the world. This means that we need to have the best people, practices, methods, products and solutions available in the PHP community.

Through joint ventures and partnerships we plan to develop new products and solutions that enhance and deliver value for all our customers.

We also want to promote open source technology in traditionally resistant sectors, and drive trust in the technology from a commercial standpoint (for example the financial sector).

What does Inviqa do?

We are passionate about quality, high-end web development using open source technology. Established in 2007, we quickly established ourselves as the leading PHP authority in the UK. We work with organisations that deploy mission-critical LAMP technology, and offer a range of PHP services including web development, PHP training, consultancy and application support.

Our strength lies in designing and building web applications that help companies to deploy internet technology in a profitable manner. Wherever possible, we use open standards. Customers include the BBC, Betfair, Comic Relief, William Hill, Cable and Wireless, Estée Lauder, Ladbrokes, IPC Media, Plusnet, Virgin Media, Vodafone, Affiliate Window, Sony, Nokia, World Food Programme.
