About the role

Purpose of the role

Working in conjunction with the creative and back-end teams, the selected candidates will be responsible for creating cross-browser solutions that separate structure, presentation and behaviour using semantic mark-up, CSS, and unobtrusive JavaScript. Additionally, they will be well versed in techniques for building to accessibility standards and totally dedicated to producing top-end solutions that meet or exceed our clients’ high expectations.

About you

Professional and personal characteristics

  • Semantically marked-up HTML
  • CSS, including experience with pre-processors (e.g. Sass, LESS)
  • Writing clean and maintainable Javascript, jQuery, AJAX and XML
  • Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign for web production (e.g. cropping, masks, selection, layer comps, creating SVGs)
  • Solid agency experience in web development
  • Experience in developing responsive and mobile sites
  • Eye for detail and alignment as well as a solid understanding of UX
  • Excellent communication and problem solving skills
  • We ask all staff to undertake a DBS check. You should be happy to do this.

Bonus points: 

  • JavaScript frameworks (e.g. AngularJS, Backbone.js)
  • JavaScript unit testing tools
  • PHP/MySQL experience
  • Version control (e.g. git / svn)
  • Agile (e.g. Scrum / Kanban)
  • Magento ecommerce templates and layouts 
  • Multiple language, multiple store Magento integrations
  • Drupal, Joomla, WordPress, and/or Silverstripe
  • Web server management and working with Linux
